Walking by Faith – Spirit Control – Part 2 – Being Filled with the Spirit

Ephesians 5:18

We continue our series on 2 Cor. 5:7 which is our theme for this year by focusing on the second section of our study called “Spirit Control”.  In this sermon, we look to Ephesians 5:18 where Paul gives us two commands that are contrasted and compared at the same time!  One is negative and one is positive, but they are also similar.  In this verse Paul encourages us to be “filled with the Holy Spirit” and when we look behind the English language, we find a deeper meaning which is “keep on being filled” or more than just a single act – but rathe a relationship of continual filling to the uttermost.  I connect the physical bodies need for water with the spiritual persons need for the Holy Spirit.  Are you thirsty?

NOTE:  At the end of the sermon there are two songs from our praise team led by
Micah Williams and Danna Beale if you would like to listen.

I.  Being Filled
II. Being Thirsty
III Being Fillable
